The BONE PILE
SERIES
160 years after the conclusion of the American Civil War, it is still a topic of conversation and academic research. This trilogy, The Bone Pile, was written with the intention of exploring the mindsets of both Yankee and Confederate participants through the eyes of two historic figures, James Hanger and Halbert Paine. The human toll of this war is described as the horrors of slavery, battlefield injuries and deaths, and the deplorable condition of the citizenry are described as well as the tenacity of a nation to survive in spite of its self-induced alienation and destructiveness.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Mrs. Traner, a retired nurse from Milwaukee, WI, is a passionate writer who has published her fourth novel. She aims to tell the story of the Civil War from both sides, incorporating historical facts, personal attitudes, and nuanced perspectives.
